What we collect to sell and deliver your order, who it goes to, and how to have it changed or deleted.

Summary

This page explains what personal data Needs & Goods collects when you browse and shop, why, and what you can do about it. The store is run by [registered business name and address], contactable at contact@needsandgoods.com.

The principle: collect what it takes to sell and deliver your order, use it for that, and never sell it. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

What we collect

When you order

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your delivery address (city, area, street and postcode) for physical items.
  • What you ordered, the price, the payment method and the order's delivery status.
  • Any note you add for us or the courier.

Card and mobile-banking details are entered on the payment provider's own page and go straight to them. We receive only a payment reference and the result — never your card number or PIN.

If you create an account

  • Your email address, name and a securely hashed password (we can't read it).
  • Saved addresses, your wishlist, and your order history.
  • Reviews and questions you post, which are shown publicly with the name you choose.

When you get in touch or subscribe

  • Messages you send through the contact form, with any images you attach.
  • Your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter.

When you browse

  • Which products are viewed and added to carts, and how a visitor arrived (for example a search engine or a campaign link). This is counted on our own servers to see which products interest people; it is not shared with advertising networks.
  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser, time), kept for security and fault-finding.

Why we use it

  • To take and deliver your order — processing payment, packing, handing the parcel to a courier, collecting cash on delivery, and handling returns and refunds.
  • To keep you informed — order confirmations, shipping updates, and replies to your messages.
  • To run your account — sign-in, saved addresses, wishlist, reviews and digital downloads.
  • To send the newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the store safe and working — preventing fraud and abuse, and keeping the records the law requires for sales.

Cookies and browser storage

We only use our own cookies, each for a specific job:

NameWhat it does
ng_sessionKeeps you signed in. Removed when you sign out.
ng_currencyRemembers the display currency you chose. Prices are always charged in BDT.
ng_refRecords the affiliate who referred you, so they can be credited for the sale.
ng_attrRemembers how you first arrived (e.g. search or a campaign link) for our own sales reports.
Cart and compare listKept in your browser's local storage so they survive a page reload. Never sent to us until you check out.

The contact form uses hCaptcha to stop spam; hCaptcha may set its own cookie while the form is on screen.

Who we share it with

Only with the services that make the store work, and only what each needs:

  • Payment providers (for example SSLCommerz, bKash or Stripe, depending on what you choose) — the order amount and your contact details, to take the payment.
  • Delivery couriers — your name, phone number and delivery address, and the amount to collect for cash on delivery.
  • Our email provider — your email address and the content of the emails we send you.
  • Hosting and cloud storage — the servers and storage the store and its files run on.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: for [the period required by tax and accounting law].
  • Your account: until you ask us to close it.
  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your question, then deleted in routine clean-ups.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs: a few weeks.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — except what we must keep by law, such as records of a sale. Most of it you can update yourself on your profile. To make a request, email contact@needsandgoods.com from the address on your account; we'll reply within [30 days].

Security

Connections to the site are encrypted, passwords are stored hashed, payment-gateway credentials are stored encrypted, and staff only see the parts of the back office their role needs. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.

Children

The store is not aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too; significant changes are also emailed to account holders. Questions: contact@needsandgoods.com or the contact form.
